Job description: A Non-CDL Transportation Specialist bus driver is a personwho, under the supervision of a manager, supervisor, or dispatcher, operates avan or bus over designated routes transporting school pupils, or clients to andfrom school or other locations. In addition, a bus driver may transport clientson private charter trips. Bus drivers may work with loud and disruptiveclients. Drivers will be transporting students with disabilities.

Duties:

· Drive aminivan daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, loadingand unloading pupils or clients at designated locations and schools.

· Transportschool pupils and teachers on school activity trips.

· Perform preand post-trip safety inspections of the vehicle being driven to ensure it is inproper working order.

· Perform achild check immediately after each run.

· Maintain goodorder and discipline among school pupils or clients.

· Followcompany policies regarding pupil/client management and relations with parents,teachers, guardians, medical practitioners, medical facilities, and the publicin general.

· As requestedby the Operations Manager or Dispatcher, verify route turn for turn sheets andnote any route changes with written notes; may participate in daily or weekly routebuilds

· As requestedby the Operations Manager or Dispatcher, make additional directional orlandmark notations on bus route sheets to assist future new or substitute vandrivers.

· As requestedby the Operations Manager or Dispatcher, observe and track route timing, suchas total time en-route; time between stops; loading and unloading times or anyother requested information for the purpose of establishing route efficiency.

· Keep recordsand submit reports as required.

· Sweep, cleanand refuel vehicles.

· Report allmechanical deficiencies promptly.

· Instructstudents on safe riding classes and perform evacuation drills as directed.

· Completerequired CDE (Colorado Department of Transportation) small vehicle operationcertification course.

EssentialJob Requirements:

·State-Required Driver’s License must meet company standards on driving record

· Currentreport of Driver Physical Examination

· Demonstratedproficiency in the operation of assigned vehicles. May include extra equipmentsuch as wheelchair lifts, special needs safety vests, under all road andweather conditions.
